AV Instructor

Position Overview

\nADMFA Audio is building an instructor roster for the ADMFA AV School. Instructors teach working AV skills through structured course books, asynchronous assignments, live online instruction and supervised hands-on labs.\n\n

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver approved lessons and demonstrations.
• Prepare equipment and learning activities.
• Maintain safe lab practices.
• Assess learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Document attendance and curriculum observations.

Before the Event / Assignment

• Review assigned priorities, deadlines, dependencies and required documentation before beginning work.
• Confirm access to the approved systems and information necessary for the assignment.
• Escalate unclear ownership, policy or customer-impact risks before taking action.

During the Event / Assignment

• Complete assigned work accurately and within the approved scope.
• Maintain professional communication and protect confidential company/customer information.
• Document material decisions, exceptions and handoffs.

After the Event / Assignment

• Close assigned records and document follow-up items.
• Return shared resources and files to approved locations.
• Escalate unresolved issues and identify process improvements where appropriate.

Customer & Team Expectations

• Communicate professionally, accurately and respectfully with customers, guests, vendors and coworkers.
• Protect customer personally identifiable information, payment information and private booking details.
• Do not promise pricing, scope, refunds or operational changes outside assigned authority.
• Escalate safety, service or reputational risks promptly.
• Represent ADMFA Audio consistently in appearance, communication and conduct appropriate to the assignment.

Required Qualifications

• Strong subject-matter expertise and ability to explain technical concepts to learners at varied levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in audiovisual production, events, hospitality, customer service, operations, administration, education, technology, or a closely related environment.
• Experience working in a fast-moving service business with deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
• Relevant technical training, industry certifications, project coordination experience, or customer-facing experience depending on the role.

Core Skills

Education

Minimum: High school diploma/GED, relevant technical education, or equivalent demonstrated experience depending on the role.
Preferred: Relevant college coursework, trade/technical education or industry certifications preferred when applicable.

Experience

Minimum: Relevant hands-on, customer-service, technical, administrative or project experience appropriate to the position.
Preferred: Experience in live events, audiovisual services, venue operations, rentals, production, hospitality, or another deadline-driven service environment is valued.

Licenses & Certifications

• Role-specific safety, technical or professional certifications are preferred when applicable. Required credentials, if any, are identified before assignment authorization.

Equipment Proficiency

• Ability to safely use and care for the equipment, devices, tools, or office resources assigned to the role after required training and authorization.

Software / Systems

• Comfort with email, calendars, web-based business systems, documentation tools, and role-specific ADMFA platforms. Additional software requirements are communicated by position and assignment.

Physical & Work Environment

• Work environment varies by assignment and may include office, remote, studio or event settings. Reasonable role-specific physical requirements are communicated during hiring and assignment planning.

Schedule & Location

• Location: ADMFA Studio / Online
• Schedule: As needed by term. In-person labs Monday evenings; Saturday online sessions may be assigned; no Sunday classes.
• Work mode: Hybrid
